Islay Whisky: Depending on ones point of view this island of the famous brown waters produces either the greatest spirit in the world or something akin to medicine. The full iodine / seaweed flavours are not for the beginner.

for the Lagavulin Distillers Edition whisky.

Category: Islay Whisky

Age:

Year:

Alcohol by Volume: 43%

Distiller: Distillery

Distiller notes:
When Lagavulin decided to produce a secondary cask-finished version - The Distillers Edition, there were doubters who thought nothing could be a match for the pungent strength of Lagavulin. Those sceptics were unfamiliar with Pedro-Ximenez. Appearance: Deep gold. Palate: Big flavour. Begins with sweetness, and ends with peat, smoke and hints of seaweed. Finish: Incredibly long even by Lagavulin standards, smooth and rounded, with waves of sandy dryness.

The house style for the Lagavulin distillery is: Dry, smoky, complex. Restorative or nightcap.
